“In the wake of a complex global system riddled by tremendous challenges, Agri-YouthVest Africa (AYVA) realizes that the solutions to many of the problems in Africa lie mainly with the African youths and women. In this era of sustainable development, it has become increasingly necessary to do away with the fundamental approach to development especially in agriculture which continues to be an economic mainstay of Sub-Sahara Africa.  AYVA is dedicated to supporting  women and youths in the agricultural sector with the aim of developing an agricultural system and environment that allows for pro-poor, sustainable growth and development on the continent.”- Sayid’Ali Kativu


Strategic Goal

To establish a fully integrating agricultural institution, with a representative branch in every African (sub-Sahara) country offering resources and services to youths and women for sustainable pro-poor and inclusive development through agriculture by 2022.

To be a unique institution committed to the approach of agriculture as a sustainability science crucial for the development of Africa, adopting and creating innovations, strategies, services and mechanisms to enable youth and women to become enterprising and capable of empowering self and society through sustainable creation of agriculture-based wealth.


Mission

The Vision guiding the way, Agri-YouthVest Africa aims to be a leading institution internationally recognized for transforming agriculture from an underrated to its rightful place a sustainable economic driver; embracing the diversity of Africa agricultural resources and putting them to maximal use. This would be achieved through addressing challenges in the agricultural enclave with specific attention to thematic indices:

  • Agricultural Capital and Financing: To pilot, rescue and upscale AYVA supervised sustainable agricultural enterprises,  expanding and distributing reproducible agricultural capital stocks, for pro-poor inclusive growth and accumulating wealth; recognizing that capital continues to be a top-ranking barrier for youth who have the passion and or knowledge expertise to feed their nations or the world as a whole.
  • Capacity Building, Utility and Development: Total human capital development to equip the potential youth with knowledge, skills and tools necessary to drive and manage diverse, highly productive and sustainable food agricultural enterprises with guarantee of scalability. Which through management, generation of new knowledge and its application therein enables sustainable socioeconomic transformation.
  • Climate change: With special attention and emphasis in climate smart agriculture; a vital and significant tool for sustainably enhancing productivity in the development, especially under a changing climate, that adaptability of agriculture will be constant and also ensuring an uncompromised and uncompromising increment in productivity; a necessity for an expanding global population.
  • Natural Resources, Environmental and Ecosystem Services: Recognizing the relationship and interdependence of the nexus and agriculture, containing fragility of either the former or the latter depending on the need arising. Emphasis highly regarded also on Clean and Renewable Energy needed for sustainable agriculture and development
  •  Food security: Recognizing that it is impossible to develop socioeconomically for any nation or community that that is riddled by food insecurity. It also goes on with appreciating that current global food loses along the value chains can go a long way improving food security. 
  • Technological Development and Innovation: emphasizing adoption and use of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) to effect service delivery while maximizing sustainable technological transformation to meet needs and requirements of other focal points.
  • Agricultural Markets Development and Transformation: A move to ensure that African agricultural markets are profitable, accessible and sustainable; being as inclusive as possible. Also necessary is development and transformation ensuring that agricultural produce and producers are protected by enabling marketing regulations
  • Agricultural Governance, Policies and Regulations: driving amenities to unfriendly national policies that draw back the proactive performance of youths and women (including mainly gender equality and equity) in  agriculture. Thus creating an enabling environment for inclusive growth with reforms and regulatory amendments crucial for development of the other thematic focal pointers.
